PARIS, Jul 2, 2004/ FW/ --- Launched last January 2006, during the Paris Menswear Fall 2006 season, Jean Paul Gaultier approached true androgyny with his menswear line Gaultier2.
Both men and women can wear Gaultier2 without a change in silhouettes, which means that the buttons will stay where it usually stays for men, and the cut will be exactly the same. To accommodate women, smaller sizes will be offered.
A fashion innovator since he burst into the Paris fashion scene in 1976, Jean Paul Gaultier broke new grounds in 1985 with his ‘A Wardrobe for Two’ collection, his first foray into androgynism.
Through the years, Jean Paul Gaultier has dabbled with the concept, but it was not only last January 2006 that he truly expanded his vision. He renamed his menswear line Gaultier2 and presented his first catwalk show for the label.
